Winners of this prestigious Award were honored by the Queen of England at a ceremony on Monday, June 22, 2015.
Esther Eshiet from Cross River, is a social worker and Founder of the Afterschool Peer Mentoring Project, which aims to provide young people with the skills to gain employment during the transition between school and work. She is on the Advisory Panel that selected the Queen’s Young Leaders.

Sounds good!! the Calabar Garment Factory will be Ready In Two Months says Governor Ayade

Cross River State governor, Senator Ben Ayade, has disclosed that the construction of the Calabar garment factory will be completed in two months.
The governor who disclosed this to news men during the inspection of the project site along Goodluck Jonathan Bypass,
this is within his 100 days in office.
the factory is expected to generate about 1000 jobs, the bulk of which would be women, particularly widows.‎

World Music Day was a blast in Akwa Ibom State

World Music Day took place on June 21, In Akwa Ibom State with the theme 'industrializing the Akwa Ibom Music Industry'  at G-park Resort, 162 ikot ekpene road, Uyo.  

mega performances by renowned artistes. The event was organized by award winning music program, Muzik Alive AKBC TV in partnership with PMAN, AKS. The free for all, was the largest conglomeration of musicians, song writers, producers, video directors, bloggers, on air personalities, Deejays, Record Label execs /mgt, dancers and all lovers of music.

Abducted Winners’ Chapel pastor freed

last week we heard of the Living Faith Church pastor who was abducted by hoodlums, in his church along IBB Way CaLabar,and now with not much info, we now hear he has been released by his captors.

A source in the church told vanguardngr.com that the pastor was taken to the outskirt of Calabar at midnight and asked to go home. Pastor Seyi found his way to the church where other pastors were holding a vigil for his release.

The pastor’s release was confirmed by the chairman of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria in Cross River State, Pastor Lawrence Ekwok who could not confirm if any ransom was paid. He however expressed gratitude to God, the police and the media for helping to facilitate the release of the pastor.

Cross River Government Clears Backlogs, Promises to Pay salaries Before Month Ends

I'm soo loving the sound of this...


i just heard The Cross River State Government has paid up all outstanding workers' salaries.
The administration of the immediate past governor, Senator Liyel Imoke owed workers for March and April, but was able to clear all before he left office on May 29.
Following in the same spirit, the State Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade has paid May salary just two days after assuming duty as governor.
He promised that from this month onwards, government will make effort to pay salary on the 25 of every month from the internally generated revenue.

GOVERNOR UDOM EMMANUEL SO FAR

Shortly after Governor Emmanuel was sworn-in, he hit the ground running and to show a total dedication to his main campaign promise of rapid industrialization, he has already set up a technical committee for the realization of the Ibom Deep Seaport, made up of thorough-bred professionals, with the deadline for the completion put at 2018. 
He has also visited the moribund Peacock Paint factory at Ikot Ekan, Etinan Local Government Area and will soon constitute a team of experts to advise the government on the revitalization of the industry

Technical committees on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and Agriculture and Food Sufficiency will soon be constituted. Also, electricity supply has become more stable since the Governor’s direct intervention with the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company. In two weeks, an additional 20 wattage would be added to the system, which would further stabilize power supply.
Akwa Ibom State is under the able hands of an internationally recognized and celebrated technocrat and banker extra-ordinaire, and Governor Udom Emmanuel is deploying his vast contacts and language of communications within the financial world to draw investors to the state.
